We are often asked ‘what makes Sri Lanka so special and why should I go there for my next holiday’. Thankfully the answer is pretty easy. There is something for everyone. Whether you are into adventure, exploration, culture, safari, beach time, surfing, fascinating history, jungles, mountains, waterfalls, tea plantations….the list goes on.

Whilst you could certainly head to Sri Lanka purely for a beach holiday, we always recommend combining a few different areas of the country, spending a few days in each place before moving on enabling you to really get a feel for the country. It’s a small island so getting around is easy, particularly when you have your own driver!

What we try and discourage is hopping around every night or two. This can be exhausting and you don’t really get a feel for a place if you’re just unpacking and re-packing. So between 2 and 4 nights tends to work well.

We obviously tailor each holiday to suit our clients individual requirements but a typical 2+ week trip might look something like:

  • 1 nights on arrival to relax and unwind after your travel.
  • 3 nights in the Cultural Triangle
  • 4 nights in the central highlands at Ashburnham Tea Estate
  • 3 nights on safari at Gal Oya Lodge or Leopard Trails
  • 3 nights on the south coast
  • 2 nights in Galle Fort

Within just over 2 weeks you’ve experienced tea plantation life, visited ancient cities and temples in the cultural triangle, swam in waterfalls, visited Kandy, been on safari, walked with the vedda tribe, swam or surfed in the Indian Ocean, shopped in the lanes of Galle Fort and still had plenty of time to relax, unwind and enjoy incredible cuisine!

If you’ve got longer then great. If you’ve got shorter you can just select a couple of places and then keep coming back year after year to do other parts of the island!

Another lovely reason is the accommodation. We might be biased as we love boutique hotels but if, like us, you enjoy your smaller style properties then there are stunning hotels and private villas dotted around the island. The properties we work with have been hand-selected as they offer something special, whether that’s location, unique experiences, excellent service, interesting architecture and stylish interiors and most often the combination of all of these components.

Our job in many ways is the fun part, which is to recommend suitable properties from our collection and then help piece a trip together around the island, using one of our experienced english speaking drivers to transfer you from place to place.

So we’re very lucky in that we love the destination we offer. We have a wonderful team based on the ground in Sri Lanka to take care of our guests arrangements and are proud to promote their beautiful country.
